AdoptA Update 12 October 2004
WOW. Another year has passed.
I’ve delayed writing a memo for this occasion, as it’s such a difficult task, as “not being there” in person means we have had to rely on visitors and sponsors reports and photos over the past 18 months.
But by all accounts, the AdoptA crew has moved on in their lives, and, thanks to sponsors/supporters/visitors the crew have been doing enough business to make the project more than worthwhile. And Thanks to Pak Jim O'Donnell, the ladies now have a retail outlet in Kuta to compliment the Co-Op.
Please keep up the support, and by visiting and purchasing product, you’ll be helping to give these ladies a future they would not have dared dream about in the first weeks after the tragedy.
Footnote:
For those who missed it last year, and for those who would like to see it again, “The Healing of Bali” is being re-screened on SBS at 1pm today (Oct. 12 2004) for the 2nd anniversary of the bombings.
Well worth viewing
AdoptA Shop
At Last...The girls NEW retail shop is in Gg Ronta, which goes off Poppies Lane II directly behind Pub Bagus which is about 100m in from Legian Rd. From Poppies Lane II its about 200m around a few small bends and on the left side.
The shop has a glass shop front and they have an adopta banner hanging out front.
Please keep up the support.
It's worth a visit..if only for the SMILES!!
Time moves on, and hasn't it been an “interesting time. What began as a tiny seed, the desire to help the Balinese victims of October 12th snowballed.
The disaster touched the hearts of many people both in Australia and abroad.
Our donors' & supporters generosity and kind hearts have enabled us
to not only take care of immediate needs, such as food, medical attention,
counselling and just being there for them,
but also to consider the need for retraining and future employment.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to you all.
You have overwhelmed us with your kindness and you all inspire us to keep going.
It goes without saying that without you, none of this would have been possible.
For these unfortunate people, the knowledge that someone out there cares has, we know, given them great comfort.
May your God bless you.
